About Corporate Security:
The primary responsibility of Corporate Security is to protect worker safety, prevent crime on SCE property, and mitigate risks of physical attacks to critical infrastructure. Physical security operations within Corporate Security covers contract security officer services, the Edison Security Operations Center (ESOC), investigation of security incidents and threats, intelligence-gathering, the SCE Badging Office, NERC Physical Security compliance, and background investigations and PRAs.
You will work in collaboration with internal and external resources managing the day to day vendor who provides security guard services for approximately 20 fixed site facilities while also responding to requests for on-demand guard services that vary from 7,000 to 10,000 hours a week.
The selected candidate will administer/oversee the day to day requirements of both on-boarding and off-boarding contractors, managing a Tier 1 contractor to monitor liability to SCE and the public, insure compliance as to specified training, approve access order requests, interact with SCE points of contacts (POC) who require security guard presence
Manage day to day supervision/placement of contract security guard vendor
Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of security placement and personnel.
Ensure compliance training by vendor
Forecast needs to support business goals and objectives
Make recommendations for new processes and procedures
Evaluate/investigate lapses and/or break downs as to the SLA’s in the contract (i.e. service failures)
Interact with SCE Regional Security Managers (RSM) and SCE POC’s as to performance of vendor company
Liaison with internal and external customers and stakeholders
Conduct on-boarding and off-boarding of contact employees
Associates Degree or classwork/training in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Technical Discipline
Seven years of experience in Security or law enforcement
Experience managing risks and developing and executing business plans, and managing information
Experience in team building,
Experience researching and communicating current with relevant security standards, technology, and innovation,
Bachelor Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Technical Discipline
ASIS CPP, PSP or similar physical security certification or experience
Ten or more years of Security or law enforcement experienceExperience creating and maintaining and promoting safety initiatives and mindset
Experience presenting information to individual, small, or large groups in presentations, running meetings and in written format
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties
