Position Overview

This position will have IT project management responsibilities as a team member in the Grid Modernization Program, an SCE Strategic Initiative. The Grid Modernization Program is developing and implementing a series of next generation IT solutions for managing the electric distribution grid – including Engineering & Planning Tools, Communication Infrastructure, and Grid Management Systems.

Typical Responsibilities:

Leads projects to resolve complex business issues by engaging and consulting with clients and analyzing business needs. Delivers clear, relevant, and timely project communications to clients. Supports the evaluation, development, and implementation of IT projects and services within an OU. Takes responsibility for handling the development, implementation, and coordination of all project activities by guiding the design, evaluation, analysis, demonstration, construction, satisfaction of regulatory requirements of projects/products for assigned programs. Provides project management and project direction to a project team and supports the project development, budget, and schedule in order to maintain a broad view of the business and technology outcomes and how individual projects deliver those outcomes. Establishes goals, negotiates, and develops project plans. Assists with identifying demand conflicts and recommending escalation of conflicts where appropriate. Primary technical leader for the IT solution set they are supporting.

In addition, the incumbent will support Grid Mod Program planning and coordination for the next SCE General Rate Case, including cost estimation, testimony development, and workpaper development. Interface with the Grid Mod PMO and IT GRC Team in the development of GRC strategy, author assignments, work plan for completion.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Seven (7) years of Project Management.

  • Two (2) years of experience supporting or leading projects or key business initiatives in a technical environment.

  • Strong experience with program/project financial analysis and forecasting.

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP Certification

  • Five (5) years of experience working in Information Technology for an electric utility

  • Two (2) years of IT portfolio and customer relationship management experience for an electric utility

  • Prior experience developing strategic technology plans in support of key business objectives.

Comments

  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Pomona location (roughly 25%).

  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
