The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.
The Substation Maintenance and Construction intern will support a variety of special projects associated with Transmission Operations. We will be looking at improvements in Affordability, and Work Execution. The intern will work in conjunction with all of the SM&C Supervisors to facilitate, report out and complete assigned projects with the related details. The intern will be the primary contact for certain projects and maintain the status throughout the life cycle of those projects.
Substation M&C is looking for a talented summer intern to help support the new affordability guidelines that the company is working through.
Works independently with guidance on projects.
Solves moderate to complex problems and takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
May manage cross-functional projects or initiatives.
Works with management across functions to influence decisions.
Develop project effectiveness plan
The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced Leaders. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger Electric Operations organization through the work they will be performing.
Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related majors (students must be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship)
Must have a valid driver’s license or obtain one at least 30 days prior to start date.
Strong computer skills using databases, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong verbal communication skills
3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
