Position Specific Description

Florida City Gas is seeking a System Planner to join their team in Rockledge, FL.

The System Planner has regular responsibility for providing system planning analysis and support to operations, engineering design, and sales as well as periodic on call after hours emergency support. The selected candidate for this role will also support Technical Specialists for complex New Business main, service and meter set designs.

Job Overview

Employees in this role evaluate the performance of gas distribution and transmission systems using hydraulic modeling software. This job is responsible for identifying and analyzing scenarios for project alternatives and recommends the most effective solution for pressure improvements, new business, main replacements, and public improvement projects to ensure cost effective and reliable service to our customers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and provides daily support for Engineering Design, Sales and Field Operations projects and emergency response

  • Analyzes infrastructure projects, evaluates alternatives, and recommends balanced solutions

  • Optimizes project solutions on multiple objectives considering system reliability, cost, and customer service

  • Analyzes gas systems, monitors system low points, and recommends corrective actions

  • Identifies and corrects distribution network model, validates loads and assignments, and completes quality control checks

  • Performs audit of the hydraulic system to ensure customers receive reliable service

  • Participates in engineering audits to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines

  • Develops recommendations to resolve existing compliance issues

  • Identifies and escalates obstacles/issues that put projects at risk

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's - Engineering

  • Experience: 2+ years
