Supervises employees in three NY Meter Testing and Repair Labs (Rochester, Binghamton, Geneva). Ensures all employees are trained and certified in all areas of their jobs. Responsible for administering meter testing programs for PSC. Responsible for the ensuring laboratory equipment is properly maintained. Researches and resolves customer issues when needed. Hires and trains new employees. Plans, schedules, assigns and appraises activities within meter services. Maintains gas and electric meter inventory.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
- Plans, schedules, directs and reviews work of subordinates and subcontractors.(50%,P)
- Ensures the achievement of departmental goals, including O&M; and capital budgets. Tracks all pertinent information for reporting. Maintains meter and device inventory and records.(20%,P)
- Ensures compliance with applicable rules, PSC regulations, policies and guidelines.(15%,S)
- Interviews and selects candidates for employment. Appraises and provides coaching and counseling to subordinates for continued education.(5%,S)
- Ensures laboratory equipment is properly maintained.(5%,S)
- Performs other duties as assigned.(5%,S)
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of four years relevant experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of seven years relevant experience required.
Knowledge of customer service policies and SAP CCS Device Management preferred.
Supervisory experience in a Technical Discipline, Laboratory, Meter Technicians or Customer Service preferred.
Knowledge and experience with PSC rules and regulations preferred.
Experience with Capital and O&M; budgeting process preferred.
Strong leadership skills with emphasis on Safety
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Technical knowledge of Electric and Gas metering
Mechanical equipment troubleshooting experience
