Job Responsibilities:

Safety Coordinator

The DDS Companies has an immediate need for Regional Safety Coordinators across the Upstate, NY region. The position will report to the Director of Health & Safety and will be responsible for assisting and maintaining the DDS Companies’ Safety Program across all of our operating divisions.

This position will be required to perform the following functions:

  • Conduct and document routine Safety Inspections of field operations

  • Incident response, reporting and investigation

  • Safety equipment inspection, maintenance and replacement (e.g., fire extinguishers, PPE, meter calibration and other Safety equipment)

  • Train employees in Safety programs, procedures and regulations

  • Collect and maintain required program documentation

  • Participate in Annual Safety Training

  • Assist with DOT program

Job Qualifications:

Skills and Experience

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in a Safety focused role

  • Prior experience working with employees to identify and correct hazardous workplace conditions

  • Ability to collect, organize and summarize Safety related information

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Must be able to effectively communicate and provide training in field and classroom settings Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience

  • CSP Certification

  • Prior training experience
