JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

This position plays a significant role in supporting the transition of our business into a digital world delivering of all aspects of company mobile application web sites, digital platforms and significantly contribute to the online reputation of AVANGRID organizations. You will also work closely with the business and corporate applications team to identify opportunities, such as business and technology improvements, that will support the growth of AVANGRID’s business plan. The ideal candidate is results-oriented, competitive, energetic and enjoys taking on new challenges.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  • Lead the delivery of innovative mobile and web projects and enhancements that deliver quality solutions and enhance customer experience

  • Participate and support agile project management teams and in situations that require a hybrid approach, develop project management approaches suitable for achieving project goals

  • Responds appropriately to customer web requests taking ownership and resolving as appropriate

  • Assist in the development/revision of web standards and ensure compliance with established standards

  • Identify web best practices and focus on process improvement opportunities

  • Manage vendor to drive services and solutions in timely manner

  • Identify and solve complex problems with limited guidance

  • Deliver excellent customer service and actively promote customer service standards within area of responsibility

  • Proactively pursues training and applies learned skills when implementing technical web based solutions

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field plus minimum eight years’ experience in digital development activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Competent in development applications

  • Functional design experience in form and application design and usability is desirable

Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design

  • Working knowledge of J2EE Frameworks, (Struts, Ibatis, Hibernate, Spring, and JSF)

  • Working knowledge of .net Frameworks

  • Working knowledge of mobile Frameworks and solution including hybrid and native,

  • Working knowledge of WebSphere Portal Server, WebSphere Content Mgmt (WCM), and Portlets

  • Highly specialized at implementing solutions for web and mobile sites and applications

  • Enhanced understanding of core web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript)

  • Working knowledge of implementing web development projects using both Agile and traditional project management methodologies

  • Knowledge of accessibility issues for websites, including the W3C accessibility standards and website best practices

  • Ability to translate business requirements into simple effective solutions

  • Working knowledge of writing complex queries in Oracle

  • Working knowledge of writing complex queries in SQL Server

  • Excellent written and communication skills with a focus on customer service

  • Leadership capabilities demonstrated through work experiences.

  • Ability to proactively identify innovative solutions to challenging and complex problems

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively plan and execute multiple events simultaneously
