We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Role is established in the Finance/Accounting function and works closely with IT.

  • Leads self and others to devise or modify procedures to solve complex finance and accounting related systems issues and problems

  • Leads and aligns technology solutions with business strategies.

  • Partners with Accounting and other functional groups to communicate and clarify business needs, contribute to development of long-range accounting and financial systems enhancement plans, and ensure products and services are aligned with business needs.

  • Leads and business process analyses, needs assessments, testing and quality control on system changes and enhancements.

  • Communicates trends and requirements to and from customers and IT.

  • Assumes a lead role on multiple technology projects simultaneously and provides consultation and customer support to internal customers.

  • Guides and advises less experienced FSA analysts

  • Participates in industry organizations and specialized technology users groups to stay abreast of best practice business and technology processes.

  • Monitors on projects' progress and results.

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

5+ years directly related experience. (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months experience or more will be rounded up to one year).

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

  • Accounting experience highly preferred.

  • Excellent understanding of business systems and industry requirements.

  • IT experience in business systems analysis, in a large-scale environment, across multiple hardware and software platforms, or business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of large-scale systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to research and understand customer issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust, as this role supports all of Finance and Accounting functions.

  • Excellent technical knowledge in multiple areas of computer expertise, including: systems design/integration/automation, complex spreadsheet or presentation development, large-scale data gathering/manipulation/integration, database design/integration, system/application administration and proficiency with ERP and other financial accounting systems.

  • Knowledge and application of GAAP strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer confidence in the Financial Systems Applications team’s knowledge of, and concern for, the customer's business needs

  • Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills

  • Ability to work with all levels of employees, and to influence and impact others.

  • Experience in developing others

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others

  • Demonstrated organization and planning skills that include coordination of assigned projects, planning and scheduling, and time management.

  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and associated pressures.

  • Experience in the adaptation to, and the application of, rapidly changing technology to business needs

  • Demonstrated business systems understanding and orientation

  • Demonstrated flexibility

  • Ability to develop programs and conduct training

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor

Preferred Disciplines: Accounting, Business, Finance, Accounting Information Systems

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred disciplines listed above.
