Job Summary

This role offers the opportunity to help Dominion Energy achieve its strategic objectives by providing business and technical expertise in the evaluation of our compliance with environmental laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

This role is responsible for managing and completing the environmental compliance audit plan by monitoring audit workflow, ensuring audits are designed to verify compliance with legal/regulatory and other environmental compliance requirements and applicable policies and procedures. Provides day-to-day supervision of audit teams, including coordinating work assignments, reviewing workpapers and audit reports, and coaching team members. Actively engages team members to motivate, develop and retain top talent in the Audit Services department.

Prepares and/or reviews reports for senior management on the results of audits and advisory engagements. Communicates audit results to all levels of management. Participates in the risk assessment process with other Audit leaders to develop the annual audit plan. Serves as an advisor to senior management on critical issues.

Travel required: approximately 15 - 20% (primarily to other Dominion Energy locations).

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in environmental, sustainability, audit, or related experience• Broad understanding of environmental functions, processes, and systems• A proven ability to lead, engage and motivate others• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills• Strong written and verbal communication skills required to interface with all levels of the organization and to conduct meetings with senior management• Proven ability to manage expectations, timelines, deliverables and drive results• Knowledge of internal auditing standards, concepts and practices preferred• In-depth and expert knowledge of environmental laws and regulations (may include but not limited to air, oil, water, waste or chemical/hazardous materials) preferred• Experience with evaluating adherence to environmental management system standards, practices and processes a plus

Previous supervisory experience required.

PreferCertified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA)

Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.
