Job Summary

This role will lead accounting support and research for various Dominion and Dominion subsidiary segments as well as Corporate functions. Duties include:

  • Conduct complex assignments and analysis involving accounting projects.

  • Develop a company position on complex transactions/new accounting guidance and communicating to senior management, standard-setting and/or regulatory organizations.

  • Coordinate implementation of new accounting and financial reporting requirements to ensure consistent application throughout the Company

  • Lead project teams on specific accounting and internal control issues relevant to new products/projects/accounting; major business and organizational events; system conversions, upgrades and enhancements.

  • Provide leadership including functional advice, accounting guidelines and training across the Company. Routinely independently and effectively interacts with internal and external customers

  • Identify inconsistencies and problems and work to resolve them. Ensure appropriate controls are applied.

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • 8+ years of general accounting experience or related experience or 6+ years of experience working in public accounting

  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. General Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and procedures

  • Ability to research complex issues, formulate and develop recommendations to management.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent analytical skill

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Education Requirements

Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor, Master Disciplines: Preferred: Accounting, Business, Finance
