Job Summary

Dominion Energy’s IT Risk Management group is seeking an Information Security Analyst to provide internal security consulting and advisory services to our internal stakeholders and business partners. This position is located in located in historic downtown Richmond, Virginia at our 8th& Main Office convenient to interstate 95 and 64.

As an Information Security Analyst, your duties will consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in providing internal security consulting and advisory services to internal business and IT stakeholders regarding information security requirements, security policy/standards, security architecture, threat modeling, and ongoing maintenance of the information security risk management program, including policies, procedures, technical systems, compliance, and risk assessment activity.

  • Evaluate program, projects, and processes validating system security settings and configurations to determine that they adhere to industry standards and best practices.

  • Perform risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and third-party security reviews to ensure that business partners, applications, networks, and infrastructure components adhere to security standards and policies.

  • Contribute, as a team member, to all other risk, security, and privacy initiatives and services as appropriate.

  • Promote security awareness amongst the organization.

  • Participates in the creation and review of information security documents (policies and standards).

  • Support inclusion of applicable compliance, quality and process standards within all work.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the field of Information Security.

  • Knowledge of internal security standard, threat modeling, and the ongoing maintenance of an information security risk program, compliance, and risk assessment activity demonstrated by 3-5 years of related work experience in the field of Information Security.

  • Must be detailed oriented, and quality focused.

  • Demonstrated skills and competency in verbal communications, written communications, with the ability to work with all levels of employees, and influence and impact others.

  • Demonstrated competency in logical and analytical thinking.

  • Competent in developing effective solutions to business problems.

  • Ability to seek out and understand customer issues and business needs.

  • Demonstrated ability, desire, and focus on identifying areas and processes for improvement.

  • Previous work experience in security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software communications, and network protocols desired.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Criminology, Security or related field, with a minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience.


Associated degree Information Security, Criminology, Security or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of directly related work experience.
