Associate Supply Chain Transportation Specialist (Transportation Dispatch)

This position does not offer relocation assistance.
The primary focus of this position is dispatching drivers and material loads and providing efficient delivery routes across Dominion Energy's service territory. In addition, the successful candidate may arrange and coordinate transportation and shipping services for equipment and materials. Identifies potential transportation service providers. Communicates with field and project personnel to evaluate provider performance. Reviews and handles freight bills. Reviews and processes routine claims for lost or damaged materials. Assists field personnel in expediting or locating materials in transit. Assists with shipping requirements and issues. May solicit proposals, evaluate responses, negotiate, and/or administer routine service contracts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
0-2 years related experience. Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
Ability to multi-task.
Previous dispatch experience is preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of freight claim law procedures.
General knowledge of procurement practices, procedures, and policies.
General knowledge of business and contract law.
General knowledge material and service delivery fulfillment process.
Hazmat DOT knowledge.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate to all levels (individual contributors to management).
Effective influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
Value, cost analysis, and general analytical skills.
Project management skills.
Ability to anticipate, understand, and respond to customer needs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to use sound business judgment.
The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications outlined above.
- Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
