GENERAL SUMMARY

Directly responsible for supervising the performance of the Supplier Quality staff in carrying out the functions of external vendor auditing/surveying, source inspection, jobsite receipt inspection, vendor document approval, and maintenance of the Evaluated Suppliers List (ESL). The position works closely with the Procurement Department, including Procurement Engineering, Purchasing, and Warehousing to establish and maintain a viable program of purchasing that includes quality assurance and quality control processes.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supervises activities of the Supplier Quality Section to ensure high quality items and services are procured by qualifying vendors. Functions include participating in vendor selection, reviewing and approving vendor submittals, and monitoring vendor’s performance through audits and surveillances.

Implements strategy for maximizing efficiency and decreasing costs of section to meet business plan objectives and achieve continuous improvement.

Makes recommendations/determinations regarding employment, performance expectations/review, promotions, salary actions, transfers and terminations of Supplier Quality staff.

Allocates work, reviews and improves procedures, assists and trains Supplier Quality staff as necessary.

Resolves personnel problems.

Represents Energy Northwest on the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC) and proposes audit schedules. Periodically will be voted in as the Region IV representative.

Participates as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

Participates as a member of the nuclear plant outage organization, as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent* in Engineering or a related science from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years power plant experience is required. These four years shall include a minimum of four years of quality assurance experience OR an equivalent number of years of nuclear power plant experience in a supervisory position OR an equivalent number of years in combination of the two (quality assurance and supervisory role). At least one year of experience in nuclear power plants in the implementation of the Quality Assurance Program is required.

  • Equivalency will be determined based upon an evaluation of the following factors:
  1. High school diploma or GED (required).

  2. Sixty (60) semester hours of related technical education taught at the college level.

  3. Qualified as an NRC senior operator at the assigned plant.

  4. Four (4) years of additional experience in area of responsibility.

  5. Four (4) years of supervisory or management experience.

  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly (verbally and in writing).

  7. Certification of academic ability and knowledge by corporate management.

  8. Successful completion of the Engineer-in-Training examination.

  9. Professional Engineering license.

  10. Associate’s degree in Engineering or a related science.

Pay Range

$124,510.00 - $186,764.00 Annual

Midpoint:

$155,637.00

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
