The Fuel BU provides Nuclear Fuel assemblies to commercial reactors globally including the engineering, licensing, design, and manufacturing, as well as, the field services after Fuel delivery.

Job Description

Framatome is seeking anHR Advisor for ourRichland, WAoffice.: Within the Fuel Business Unit under limited supervision, performs human resources activities and carries out responsibilities that are varied in nature, working in several or all HR functional areas.

Demonstrates proficiency in matters of varying complexity relating to functional areas which include but are not limited to: compensation, employee benefits, operations, technology, organizational development, staffing, administration, workforce planning, People Development, and labor relations.

Develops and maintains a consultative posture with key company decision makers and earns credibility and influence on significant matters relating to emerging business priorities. Independently resolves moderately complex problems which require considerable subjective judgment and stand-alone decision-making.

Develops and leads projects and programs with broad-based implications.

Provides coaching, mentoring and guidance to less experienced team members.


Responsibilities and duties include:


  1. Serves as the primary HR contact for managers and employees in the guidance, interpretation and application of corporate policies and procedures. Daily focus is normally one or more significant business areas.

  2. In depth knowledge of different business groups and have the ability analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.

  3. Demonstrates knowledge of company business objectives and strategies, organizational structure, and management philosophies, policies, and systems to effectively advise management on complex HR issues. Proven ability to conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.

  4. Strong labor relations experience and ability to negotiate union contracts.

  5. Strong business acumen.

  6. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.

  7. Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

  8. Develops leadership that is accountable, and employee focused, and culturely engaged that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance as well as responsible succession planning.

  9. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.

  10. Work closely with People Development team on Employee evaluations (PDA: Performance Development Assessment), People reviews and the Mentoring Program to assure development of employees. Additionally, participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.

  11. Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.

  12. Work with Compensation on salary planning, job descriptions and compensation reviews.

  13. Thorough understanding of all companies benefits with ability to manage benefits such as AAP, FMLA and STD.


Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. Has comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures and programs and the ability to implement and communicate them to employees and managers. Strong business acumen with the ability to encompass Human Resources principles. Strong labor relations and union avoidance skills. * * * *

  • HR Generalist IV: BA/BS in a related field or 5 years of comparable HR experience in lieu of degree, PLUS minimum 7-10 years of related work experience. An advanced degree (MS or MBA) or HR Professional Certification may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience.

  • HR Advisor: BA/BS in a related field or 5 years of comparable HR experience in lieu of degree, PLUS minimum 10-13 years of related work experience. An advanced degree (MS or MBA) or HR Professional Certification may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience.

  • Sr. HR Advisor: BA/BS in a related field or 5 years of comparable HR experience in lieu of degree, PLUS minimum 12-15 years of related work experience. An advanced degree (MS or MBA) or HR Professional Certification may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience.

  • Within the years of experience, we require that the experience covers a broad range of topics, including but not limited to the following:

o Compensation management within a business organization,

o talent development (career development),

o labor relations and union negotiations skills

o recruitment planning and forecasting,

o US Labor law,

o ability to understand the business and financial aspects of an organization.
