GENERAL SUMMARY

The Engineering Support Specialist provides technical support for the staff in the Engineering groups. Duties include using different programs to assist Engineers activities and aid them by performing tasks to support the station’s compliance with the Cyber Security Program. Provide technical support to staff. Works under minimal supervision, perform advanced, diversified, and confidential duties and special projects. Support Engineering organization and Management Team.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide support to Engineering group in areas including, but not limited to the following:

  • Monitor, track, and enforce commitments are met for department personnel.

  • Assume responsibility for complex tasks assigned to the manager or supervisors in order to relieve them from administrative burdens.

  • Enroll personnel in training, as needed. Assigning or removing personnel from qual groups.

  • Coordinate and process travel for staff. Ensure expense reimbursement is compliance with company policy.

  • Administrator for department credit card. Includes tracking and authorization of payments and purchases. Perform monthly credit card reconciliation.

  • Schedule and coordinate D-15 meetings, Department Staff Meeting, Monthly All Hand, Safety Meetings, and any collaboration meetings with Operations, Chemistry, or with other engineering departments.

  • Action Tracking. Review AR/CR Report daily to ensure AR assignments are completed on time.

  • Provide leadership, training, and professional guidance to the Work Based Learning (WBL) students, interns and temporary employees. Delegate routine administrative and technical duties to the extent possible.

  • Provide reports/reminders to department personnel to ensure they complete CBTs and provide a timely completion.

  • Read/respond to correspondence and phone calls

  • Assist in obtaining access to Energy Northwest for contractors, visitors, vendors etc.

  • Support in-processing efforts, including performing in-processing functions through SSIS

  • Support Information Services efforts, including computer and phone requests.

  • Support Radiation Protection in the twice a year DLR exchange out – tracking includes Engineers and Contractors.

  • Initiate, track and process - material requests, contract changes requests and contracts.

  • Assist in gathering data for off-site agencies that are requesting information (INPO/WANO/CNSRB/)

  • Support when visitors come to site for assessments.

  • Submit documents to records as needed.

  • FFD coordination and notifications

  • Anticipate future needs of the departments and collaborate with the managers and supervisors in implementing changes/improvements as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Provide support to Design Engineering group in areas including, but not limited to the following:

  • Support Product Quality Review Board (PQRB) and Design Review Board (DRB), by preparing the package, attending meetings, and preparing meeting minutes.

  • Assist the Alternate Engineers (AEs) with admin support while they are working on-site, with badging and computer requests, and ensuring they are meeting commitments to the site.

  • Support Workbench Software with renewals and documenting requests during the year.

Provide support to Technical Services group in areas including, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist with EPRI contract and site visits.

  • Assist with Fire Protection assessments

Provide support to Reactor Engineering and Fuel Design group in areas including, but not limited to the following:

  • Process incoming and outgoing various vendor correspondence in accordance with SWP-REC-01. Interoffice memorandum is processed according to department procedures/instructions.

  • Support visits from fuel vendor. Assist in arranging schedules and interfacing with agency and vendor staffs.

Provide support to Computer Engineering in areas including, but not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate ordering, delivering, and tracking of computer hardware supplies.

Must support the biennial refueling outage. Assist in a pre-outage position and

Emergency Response Organization: Support ERO by maintaining qualification as an appropriate ERO team member, participating in all team drills, and responding to actual emergencies in accordance with site procedures and expectations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with three years of experience in an administrative function within a nuclear or related regulated environment or industry; OR an Associate’s Degree plus five years of experience in an administrative or technical work environment including two years of experience in an administrative function within a nuclear or related regulated environment or industry; OR a high school diploma/GED and at least seven years of experience in an administrative or technical work environment including two years of experience in an administrative function within a nuclear or related regulated environment or industry.

Pay Range

$29.75 - $44.62 Hourly

Midpoint:

$37.18

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
