Energy Northwest Engineer-New Graduate - 6458 in Richland, Washington
Our New Graduate Engineer program is designed to hire engineering students earning their bachelor’s degree into full-time regular positions upon graduation. We seek graduating students who have earned engineering degrees in various areas including mechanical, electrical, computer science and civil disciplines.
Our intent is to allow the New Graduate Engineer to gain exposure to different groups within the Engineering department including Systems, Design, Plant Support, Reactor Fuels and Technical Services. The new Engineer will earn qualifications within their first year, which qualifies them for promotions after their first year of employment.
This is an annual posting for our New Graduate Engineer program. Positions are filled throughout the year on an ongoing basis per business needs.
Provide engineering service and support to performing basic tasks requiring basic application of engineering fundamentals in support of the design modification, operation and independent assessment of Energy Northwest facilities.
o Perform basic analysis and designs in support of systems, programs and projects.
o Perform problem resolution via plant process.
o Assist in audits, test and inspections. Use engineering judgment in evaluating results or findings.
Apply judgment in selecting and applying engineering methods with supervisor or peer oversight; must operate within schedule constraints and regulatory requirements. Complete tasks and assignments on schedule; ensure compliance with regulatory and Energy Northwest procedures and policies; coordinate with other disciplines.
Engineering employees are expected to be available and to support the following activities as a condition of employment with Energy Northwest:
•Emergency Response Organization (ERO) including being on-call (24/7) during your required team duty (2 weeks out of every 8 weeks).
•12 hour work shifts during outages as part of our overall Outage support (24/7) including Outage Command Center and Engineering Outage Center
•Engineering duty cycle support (24/7) including call-out availability during your responsible duty assignment.(This is a shared responsibility across all engineering positions).
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university or a PE license obtained by accredited examination and zero to three years of discipline engineering experience.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Salary: $64,886 minimum to $81,108 midpoint
Typically, selected candidates are hired at a salary rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
