The Plant Engineering, Technical Support and Maintenance Department
The Plant Engineering, Technical Support and Maintenance Department supports manufacturing of nuclear fuel manufacturing. The group consists of three teams; Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering. The candidate would be part of the Electrical Engineering Team.
Framatome is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for it's Richland, WA facility. * * The identified Electrical Engineer candidate will under general supervision, perform varied and more difficult engineering tasks requiring application of established techniques and procedures.
Primary responsibilities will include: *
Design electrical systems that satisfy applicable electrical standards, human factors, installation/cost, and maintenance best practices.
Oversee field work including new installations, integration into existing systems, and troubleshooting as required.
Start up, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of process and production equipment and associated facilities and support systems.
Support of 24/7 fuel manufacturing facility in engineering projects and maintenance.
The candidate will be required to learn existing plant systems and support improvement projects and maintenance activities at a facility with highly automated chemical processing and assembly equipment.

Engineer II- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 2 to 3 years of directly related engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs.)
Engineer III- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 3 to 5 years of directly related engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs.)
Engineer IV- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 5 to 7 years of directly related engineering experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well within an organization and the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal working relationships.
Familiarity with electrical standards (UL-508A, NFPA-70).
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position. *
Basic AutoCAD experience.
Technical expertise in at least one of the following: Control systems (PLCs), manufacturing, radionuclide assay instrumentation, or building management systems.
Domestic/International travel - 2%. Minimal travel for training or plant visits to Europe.
