Become a Permitting Compliance Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll be regularly communicating with various governmental agencies and other external organizations to obtain favorable permit conditions for the installation of SCE facilities. You will work to Resolve Permit escalations and ensure compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations that govern how and when SCE work is performed (e.g. Government Codes, Business and Professions Codes, Street and Highways Codes, General Orders, Tariff Rules, 15, 16, 20, 131D etc.).

Responsibilities
Provides strategic guidance on agency permitting pathways, resource permit considerations, construction and engineering design and impact reduction and mitigation
Builds and maintains programs to ensure compliance with all levels of federal, state, and local levels
Prepares and implements permitting strategies, schedules and agency or public outreach efforts to minimize project cost and risk
Identifies and understands site-specific permitting and jurisdictional risks, evaluate, and communicate those risks to the development team, and develop risk mitigation strategies for each project
Fosters and enhances relationships with local and state agencies, such as permitting authorities, environmental agencies, and counterparties such as landowners
Coordinates with various internal and external design and work stream teams to complete required studies, permits, interconnection, and logistics
Provides critical information to key stakeholders about permitting to ensure that projects comply with all relevant design guidelines and ordinances
Coordinates regular meetings with department executives to go over pending issues, concerns, and upcoming projects
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience with acquisition of construction permits.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Three or more years' of experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, plans, maps, and/or designs.
Experience working with local, regional, and/or state government agencies.
Familiarity with electric utility operations, other utility operations, or other public works organizations operations including construction and engineering practices.
Experience working within construction timelines and with various construction personnel and clients.
Experience reporting on project status to internal and external partners
Experience making formal presentations to management, local and regional government organizations, or community organizations.
Additional Information
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

The primary work location for this position is Redlands, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work location.
Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
Relocation does not apply to this position.
