Pike Corporation Warehouse Material Handler in Raleigh, North Carolina

Position Summary: The Warehouse Material Handler receives, stores, stocks and distributes materials and supplies amongst other functions.



Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for receiving, storing and shipping materials kept in a laydown area.

  • Load or unload materials while it is being received or when it is being shipped.

  • Organize and Clean - Office, Warehouse and Lay Down Yards.

  • Assist in ensuring that industry sanitation and safety codes are being followed at all times.

  • Monitor the distribution of incoming shipments for quality, storage, labeling, etc.

  • Investigate discrepancies in inventory records to determine corrections needed.

  • Perform various activities, such as receiving, storing, stocking, and distributing a wide variety of materials and supplies.

  • Ensures the enforcement of all material handling procedures and practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Capability to work at a rapid pace to meet shipping and receiving deadlines.

  • Excellent physical health is required as most material handling jobs involve loading and unloading materials.

  • The work is physically demanding and requires lifting, bending or standing for long periods of time.

  • Ability to pay close attention to details along with Organization skills.

  • Training and certification may be required to operate heavy-lifting machinery such as rough terrain material handling machines with forks and telescoping booms.

  • Able to work indoor and outdoor.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the utility industry

  • Class A CDL driver’s license

  • Experience with Skid Steer and Forklift Operations

  • Work independently

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle to feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
