This position provides support for the Carolinas region Energy Management System (EMS), which provides tools to operate the electrical grid. Support of the EMS ensures it is available and operating properly to meet the needs of the operators in controlling critical electrical infrastructure. This is the career/senior level of the IT Application Analyst classification hierarchy. Applicants are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in use of concepts and procedures . They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline OR Minimum of 8 years of related business experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum 2-4 years as an IT Application Analyst or equivalent
Four years coding/programming, trouble-shooting, problem-solving, logical design, SQL coding, Business Requirements analysis, vendor management, root cause analysis
Previous experience with General Electric Grid EMS/DMS systems.
Previous experience with NERC CIP cyber security standards.
Previous experience with Electric Transmission systems, including NERC transmission reliability standards (BA, TOP, etc.)
Previous experience with real time computer systems, including programming languages (C++, FORTRAN, etc.), scripting languages (PERL, etc.).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to form and maintain positive working relationships with teammates, peers and clients and to coordinate between team members, business units, support groups, corporate areas, contractors, and vendors to ensure appropriate communication and problem resolution.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, execute, and monitor work activities with little direct supervision.
Demonstrated ability to develop processes/procedures for new technologies or changing business needs to ensure compliance with all applicable standards, regulations and company requirements.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the development of corporate positions on technical matters in related to the future direction of platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
With very Minimal Supervision
Provides support and system maintenance of EMS (troubleshooting, code review, documentation, database management).
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
Works with IT and EMS teammates to ensure proper cyber security for EMS environment, including periodic maintenance such as server reboots.
Manages/maintains EMS related software applications.
Ensures accomplishment of assigned EMS projects and overall business goals through effective planning, organizing, estimating, execution and monitoring of work activities.
Collaborates with project teammates on large projects.
Develops procedures and processes for new technologies or changing business needs to ensure compliance with all applicable standards, regulations and company requirements.
Serves as an interface between team members, business units, support groups, corporate areas, contractors, and vendors to ensure appropriate communication and problem resolution.
Provides leadership in the development of corporate positions on technical matters related to the future direction of EMS.
Makes informed decisions that may impact major projects or business/department results.
Possesses and applies the fundamental engineering concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity.
Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
Maintains accurate records and files.
Serves on 24x7 callout rotation.
