Overview

The mission of the Production Specialist is to support design, creative, and messaging efforts of the Corporate Communications Department by working closely with ElectriCities internal designers, coordinating with ElectriCities internal departments, managing external vendors and partners, and interfacing directly with ElectriCities member communities on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

Serve as liaison between internal creative team members and ElectriCities of NC, Inc. members including NCEMPA, NCMPA1, Non-Power, and Associate members.

Serve as liaison between internal creative team members and internal ElectriCities departments in support of various creative projects.

Collaborate with the larger Corporate Communications team and external partners on design concepts and project manage efficiently while providing excellent execution.

Manage all creative projects from an intake, scoping, budgeting, and timing perspective for internal departmental and external member projects. Develop detailed project plans and associated review timelines that can clearly articulate a step-by-step approach for project completion. Ensure project expectations are set, managed, and timelines for deliverables are hit.

Support the development of compelling and engaging content in support of increased awareness of, and engagement around, the value of public power.

Support internal Corporate Communications Department efforts, projects, and initiatives. Provide backup support on newsletters, social media, and general content creation when necessary.

Source, vet, and coordinate with outside vendors (design, web development, video, photography, printing/production, shipping, etc.) and manage vendor relationships. When necessary, recommend outside vendors to ElectriCities members based on individual member needs.

Lead the production of internal and external presentations for meetings, conferences, panels, etc. from a brand consistency perspective. Support large annual conferences and summits both in preparation and on-the-ground execution.

Provide a final check on outgoing projects and communications from a brand consistency perspective.

Manage all content updates to the ElectriCities corporate WordPress website.

Create and manage an ElectriCities asset repository/library for Corporate Communications’ departmental usage. Provide assets and files when requested.

Remain current on best practices for continuous improvement and advise senior staff on key trends impacting the organization’s approach.

Regularly review and assess the ElectriCities style guide to ensure the guide reflects current branding guidelines and is being consistently adhered to internally and externally. Educate internal employees and external members and vendors on the ElectriCities brand guidelines and ensure employee compliance.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Design, or Fine Arts.

Five years of communications, design, or multimedia experience.

Strong knowledge of various design and program platforms, including knowledge of video/photography production and editing, Adobe Creative Suite, digital and print methods, and advanced knowledge of WordPress.

Experience using email marketing or e-newsletter tools such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp.

Experience using social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills. Experience collaborating successfully with multidisciplinary teams.
