Summer Internship Program

Our 10-week program is designed to increase future employment potential for prospects while providing a valuable resource to the business. This Summer Internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated college juniors/seniors with a genuine desire to learn about the energy business and industry. During the internship, candidates will work on real projects and have real responsibilities. NRG aims to help candidates build strengths, gain skills that can be transferred to any workplace, and stand out from the crowd.

Ideal Candidate

This Intern role within the organization is a Home Protection, Data & Reporting Intern based in Princeton, NJ. NRG is looking for self-driven, high-caliber individuals who can grasp complex commercial issues and harness information to deliver solutions. Home Protection, Data & Reporting Intern Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the ownership of financial models that forecast sales, churn, retention and associated profit and loss and cash implications.

  • Work closely with Home Protection leadership team to determine appropriate modeling assumptions and structuring for monthly BAU forecasts and growth initiatives.

  • Perform analysis to determine present & future financial performance, returns and cash impacts.

  • Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, future requirements, operating forecasts, etc.

  • Assist in the development of standardized reporting of key performance indicators that will be reported in monthly scorecards

  • Research technical issues as needed related to primary job responsibilities

  • Participate in special projects as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree discipline: finance, accounting or comparable business field

  • Must have completed second year of college with a 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Primary Location of Employment: Princeton, NJ

  • Based on placement, location, the schedule of your work week will be a hybrid model with most days being remote with flexibility for the occasional in-office time for Program events and team needs
