Job Summary

Alliant Energy has a great opportunity for a Team Lead of Operations in Prairie du Sac or Madison, Wisconsin. Apply today and come lead the charge in renewable energy operations! In this role, you will support our renewable energy sites focusing primarily on battery and solar projects. In this role we are looking for a motivated individual with a technical background in maintenance and or electrical equipment who is ready to help us build our generating future!

Our Team Lead of Operations is responsible for the safe, environmentally compliant operation of the plant with a keen focus on continuously improving competitive position and profitability.

What you will do

  • Performs all leadership duties including, but not limited to, hiring and rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans to address performance gaps, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth and development, embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct, interfaces with communities and customers and models Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.

  • Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors which may lead to accidents.

  • Leads and promotes the establishment, acceptance and implementation of operating policies, procedures and activities that maximize financial and operating results. Assumes responsibility for all operations department activities. Plans, assigns duties and supervises employees and ensures duties are being performed in accordance with established plant policies and procedures.

  • Participates in the development of plant specific goals and objectives. Continuously monitors performance against financial and operating goals and communicates such information to employees. Ensures that employees understand and accept Business Unit and plant/unit financial and operating goals and focus their efforts on achieving such goals. Takes appropriate actions to ensure that resources and efforts remain focused on the achievement of plant/unit financial and operating goals.

  • Ensures strict adherence to corporate values in complying with all environmental, safety and other laws and regulations.

  • Ensures that all aspects of plant operations remain in compliance with environmental rules and regulations.

  • Participates in outage planning and/or operations planning.

  • Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field Preferred

Preferred Experience

  • 8 years of relevant manufacturing maintenance or mechanical/electrical engineering experience

Other Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with application and theory of policy deployment through the business planning process.

  • Must possess solid interpersonal skills including team facilitation, negotiation, empowerment and enabling.

  • Financial management and business with emphasis on maximizing results.

  • Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, scheduling and planning software.

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of the layout, equipment and operating requirements of a generating station or manufacturing plant.

  • Ability to administer company and union work rules, contracts and procedures.

  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.

  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
