WIN Waste Innovations is currently seeking an Operations Technician (OT) to perform routine operations support, assistance, and coordination. The OT performs routine inspection, maintenance on auxiliary equipment, serves as the administrator of specific plant programs and assists in monitoring and instituting programs and procedures to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of the facility.
Essential Functions:
Performs routine equipment inspection and upkeep of system not directly related to plant operations; extinguishers, lights, storage areas, etc. to free up operator time to perform training on systems and other job duties
Completes compliance work orders where possible and ensures major safety/environmental work orders are being planned and scheduled properly
Administrates TK Pro Lockout Tagout program and updates all Job Hazard Analyses and Energy Control Procedures with plant teams
Supports onboarding and mentoring assistance for new employees; prints/distributes training materials for plant use
Supports Safety Incentive Program and performs points tracking
Performs as a point of contact on employee safety concerns and reports all safety concerns to Plant Manager and Safety Manager
Assists in Incident/Near Miss Investigations
Ensures plant labeling and signage is current
Conducts Safe Job Evaluations/Observations
Performs routine program audits on Operating Standards, Lockout Tagout, Confined Space, Hot Work and Permit Tape Programs
Assists in enforcement of policies and procedures to assure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors
Provides outage support, assistance, and coordination, including:
Assists with the facilitation of the Lockout Tagout permits as needed
Performs confined space entry air monitoring as needed
Conducts initial Contractor On-Site Pre-Job Safety Briefings
Evaluates contractor performance and provides feedback to plant management
Evaluates employee performance and provides feedback to plant management
Performs outage scaffold inspections as needed
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts/Science in Safety or Engineering, or experience in a technical position
Computer Skills/Proficiencies:
- Word processing and spreadsheet software

Operate fire extinguishing equipment ranging from handheld extinguishers to 200 lb portable units
Access confined spaces and pressure vessels through standard 12" by 16" manways
PPE Required:
Work in areas under adverse conditions that may require the donning and use of personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, the following with average fatigue:
Negative pressure respirator
Positive pressure respirator
Self-contained breathing apparatus (steel or composite bottle)
Hardhat
Approved safety shoes
Eye protection
Rubber suit and gloves
