Bonneville Power Administration Support Services Specialist in Portland, Oregon

Summary This position is located in the Space Services (NWPS) organization of Business Services (NWP), and Workplace Services (NW) Chief Administrative Office (N), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). The purpose of this position will be to support the NWPS team in all computer aided drafting (CAD) processes updating all databases and drawings for all of BPA facilities and campuses throughout the 4-state territory as required. Responsibilities As a Support Services Specialist, you will: Support Space Services computer aided drafting (CAD) Team Lead by providing technical advice and recommendations. Provide entry level training to staff as well as some CAD program development and maintenance when necessary. Collaborate with the CAD Lead to have models incorporated into the electronic MicroStation drawings within Bentley software systems. Produce plots from MicroStation and Facilities Planner at requested size and scale Update Space Services team as well as other organizations within Workplace Services on changes and program updates related to space allocation and CAD program changes. Collaborate with Agency IT experts on Software updates, maintenance, and development. Serve as move Coordinator to schedule moves, answer questions to clarify requirements, handle accident reports and paperwork, arrange for repairs, certify invoices, and carry out other support work while moves are in progress. Plan and implement space planning, design, and coordination of day-to-day individual office moves for small groups within the BPA organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience 1) utilizing computer aided drafting (CAD) software and space management support systems (e.g. Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise and Facilities Planner); 2) coordinating day-to-day individual office moves for small groups within an organization; And 3) Ability to provide hands on or virtual training to individuals on CAD software required to accomplish Space Services objectives. You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Graduate Education: Major study -- public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. For some positions in this series graduate education may not provide the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience may be required for such positions. Two full academic years of graduate-level education or a master's or equivalent graduate degree is creditable for GS-9. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
