Portland General Electric Sr Workplace Designer and Planner in Portland, Oregon

Sr Workplace Designer and Planner to use architectural, interior design, and construction expertise for a range of project types including day to day work orders to large capital projects for different space types including corporate office, shop and warehouse space, and yards/site areas.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, Design and Construction Meets with officers and senior managers to determine space planning needs. Plans, recommends and implements cost-effective strategies for use of facilities. Contributes to overall company strategy for optimizing workspace including: corporate, shop, warehouse, and yard/site area. Documents plans for workspace use. Manages inventory and maintains documentation. In collaboration with others, manages all elements of new construction projects.

Vendor Management Sources and selects vendors for new construction, moves, FF&E purchases or maintenance tasks for office and shop spaces. In collaboration with Supply Chain, negotiates service-level agreements and performance metrics. Manages vendor relationships. May design, manage and maintain contract management system.

Moves and Installations Proactively manages moves and relocations to optimize facility resources. Manages all aspects of moves or relocations to optimize space and meet strategic objectives. Consults with and educates clients, vendors and other departments (IT). Suggests innovative or best-practice solutions.

Special Projects Proactively identifies and manages projects to better optimize use of work facilities, including furniture, lighting, configuration changes and accommodation requests. May proactively develop and maintain community and corporate relationships to foster sustainable practices within facilities. Consultation and Compliance Serves as a companywide subject matter expert on space design and facility use. Analyzes trends and makes recommendations. Ensures work complies with policies and regulations.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in design, architecture, project management, business or related field or equivalent experience.

Experience Typically eight or more years in related field facilities, construction project management, design, architecture or inventory control, depending on position.

Certifications, Licenses and Training Facility Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Certificate (FMC), Project Management Professional (PMP), The American Institute of Architects (AIA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA) or National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) preferred.

Compensation Range:

$104,325.00 - $173,875.00

In addition, this position is eligible for a performance-based incentive bonus. Actual total compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education
