Portland General Electric Recovery Claims Collection Processor in Portland, Oregon

Job Function Transmission and Distribution Claims Recovery Investigates claims that occur within the distribution system and ensures cost recovery and/or mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

Specialization Typically specializes in processing or collections (below) but may perform work in both areas.

Processing Reviews and prioritizes work orders and leads; corrects work orders or generates new ones as needed; performs research and investigation using multiple information sources; assigns work to field personnel; resolves unusual or complex issues.

Collections Calculates claims amounts including complex claims; ensures charges are correct; tracks payments and identifies and resolves issues; makes collections calls; assigns accounts to others as needed; monitors work status and determines resolution for old claims; prepares itemizations.

Data and Reporting Develops reports; monitors operational performance; identifies and escalates trends.

Claims May do any of the following independently: prepare claims packets and/or work with the Legal Department on claims; represent company in depositions or claims; track claims.

Leadership May serve as a subject matter expert to other team members.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Preferred: five or more years working in customer support, customer service or other customer-facing role, preferably in a utility setting, or equivalent. In addition, a background in accounts payable/receivable and insurance subrogation claims collection.

Environment

Office – 3 days per week in office

Compensation Range:

$26.15 - $39.23

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
