Our Location

Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Project Manger – Commercial would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

The Project Manager – Commercial is responsible for managing and improving the day-to-day activities of the Energy Trust of Oregon Commercial Small Business offering and the Commercial and Industrial Small Business Direct Install (small business offerings). This position will support the development of budgets, contracts and contractors with the support of the Commercial Program Managers. The Project Manager – Commercial evaluates projects and initiatives, makes recommendations for changes, builds consensus to implement changes, applies results of evaluations and analyses to make recommendations on program improvements, and supports the implementation of promotional and outreach strategies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate with Program Managers to manage strategic components within a program designed to engage small business customers, including addressing market barriers, and innovating new approaches to engage small businesses.

  • Track and report on savings and budget goals for the small business offerings, ensuring intent of offering is met and customer service standards are applied.

  • Lead product ideation and measure development processes for the non-lighting offering.

  • Oversee work of program management contractors in support of program initiatives and approved projects, exercising delegated authority.

  • Work with Program Managers to identify and oversee proactive quality management strategies to ensure that program policies and technical standards are up-to-date and relevant to the marketplace.

  • Implement program initiatives, applying best practices for project management and quality assurance, ensuring efforts meet internal and external financial, audit, evaluation, and public communication requirements.

  • Identify key deliverables and ensure projects and initiatives meet goals.

  • Support small business trade ally and installer relationships with Energy Trust and Program Management Contractor (PMC) and Program Delivery Contractor (PDC).

  • Coordinate with CCS to ensure resolution of contractor complaints and non-compliance issues.

  • Identify opportunities to improve small business offering trade ally contractors’ and installers’ experience working with Energy Trust.

  • Work with the operations team to ensure appropriate tracking of small business offerings can occur and data can be utilized to improve program design.

  • Coordinate and implement outreach activities with marketing staff and ensure program materials and website content are kept up to date.

  • Support the small business offerings outreach by attending relevant events and presenting program offerings in public settings.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from customers and contractors.

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of project information.

  • Perform all functions of the job in a safe manner.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will direct the work of external and agency contractors.

  • This position will direct the work of interns and/or temporary agency employees.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering, science, economics, finance, business, environmental science, public policy or architecture preferred), or equivalent experience.

  • Three years of relevant experience in managing program initiatives or project management.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and writing abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively with parties that may have divergent interests.

  • Ability to oversee contractors, project developers and equipment installers.

  • Successful experience working within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Customer service experience and skills.

  • Project and contract management skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software applications.

  • Strong technical aptitude.

  • Thorough understanding of the small business market and utility energy efficiency industry.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications in the pay equity assessment to determine equitable salary placement.

Starting Compensation: $66,200 – $82,000
