Purpose

The Manager, Asset Integration will oversee the renewable energy project integration process and acts as a single point of consistency, influencing how new assets are designed, constructed and commissioned to optimize project returns and performance during their operational life. The Manager of Asset Integration will be responsible for overseeing and implementing internal standards and processes in these areas, incorporating lessons learned.

The Manager of asset integration will be the key connection with the Development, Construction and Engineering teams to hone standards and ensure best practices are being followed throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to decommissioning. This position will be as well the key interlocutor within the whole Operations area, mainly with the Field Operations (Regions), Technical Services and Remote Operations and Control departments. The position will lead the operations teams at facilities while under construction to ensure commissioning standards, quality workmanship and project timelines are consistent with Avangrid Renewables standards.

The position will oversee the asset integration team and report to the Senior Director, Field Services. The environment is fast-paced, demanding, and has changing needs and priorities. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, pro-active, organized, and is able to work well as part of a team and to see initiatives through to completion.

Responsibilities

Ensure that the new renewable plants enter in the operation phase with the maximum guarantees and deliver the expected performance.Guarantee the compliance of the new renewable plants with the design specifications, NERC requirements, and best standards of quality.Coordinate all the integration process, from the initial operational specifications in the design, and pre-FID phase, to the Substantial Completion process with OEMs and official hand over of the plant form Construction to Operations.This position will be the main responsible from the Operations area of this Hand Over Process.Keep the appropriate control of the technical and contractual documentation of the plant that ensures a safe and efficient operation during its whole life. Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving.Oversee, in collaboration with the Remote Operations and Control group, the seamless integration of new and purchased generation asset control systems into the Avangrid Renewables Control Systems.Represent Operations during reviews for new project electrical, civil and site designs.Assist Commercial Services during review and negotiation of wind turbine and solar Supply Agreements and Service and Maintenance agreements.Ensure proper quality points are monitored and QA standards are adhered to during the construction or implementation of new assets. Direct the implementation of cost effective solutions for project performance improvements, including development and continuous improvement relative to past and known best practices, all with the objective of optimizing project performance.Forge effective business relationships with internal support organizations as well as suppliers, and contractors, including support in the management of OEM warranty administration following new project startups.Develop, implement and monitor new asset standards, procedures, and considerations regarding asset integration from an O&M perspective.Maintains effectiveness during procedural and organizational changes and when dealing with varying personality styles and tasks.Support the development and construction organizations on new projects opportunities, reviewing conceptual designs for potential operational issues and conducting technical due diligence in conjunction with other departments.Ensure current and historical experiences and feedback are incorporated by Development and Construction in future renewable project development.Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovations and market rule changes that impact job responsibilities.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.10+ years’ experience with power plant operations.Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function well in a team environment and interface with a broad range of departments and work groups. Demonstrated skill in understanding, motivating and / or influencing others in achieving project objectives, causing appropriate action and understanding in others. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with concurrent schedules. Pro-active, detail oriented, results-driven, with organized work techniques. Ability to assimilate a high volume of information across disciplines and departments, providing guidance and support to management and experts in each of those disciplinesProficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 30%.The ideal candidate will have extensive working and institutional knowledge and understanding of complex power plant design, maintenance and control as they relate to Field Operations.Renewable Energy field operations experience.Advanced degree(s) in a field of study relevant to the job description. PMP certificateRenewable energy project construction or design experience. Advanced computer skills, including SAP, SCADA, DominaG, Jira, Visio
