Responsibilities

This position is responsible for overseeing the consolidation and reporting activities for segments of AVANGRID which includes perform analysis of the businesses within AVANGRID (AGR), reviewing consolidation accounting activities and be responsible for the management and control of the AGR Consolidation Ledger. This position will have one direct report. Manage as user BPC tool (AGR software for Consolidation) and as viewer SAP (AGR software for stand-alone companies).Confirm the validity and the quality of the financial figures of AGR from a consolidation point of view. Monthly report under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) FRS to the parent company (IBERDROLA), with explanations over the variances of the business in the Income Statement and in the Balance Sheet. Responsibilities will also include the equity tie-back reconciliations and the review of income taxes reconciliations according to the ETR, debt variances and cash flow variances explanations. Quarterly report under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP) for SEC filling purposes with explanations over the variances of the business in the Income Statement and in the Balance Sheet. Responsibilities will also include the equity tie-back reconciliations and the review of income taxes reconciliations according to the ETR, debt variances and cash flow variances explanations. Will be involved in the preparation of SEC filling Form 10-K and 10-Q processes along with the manager of SEC Reporting footnotes, working with individual experts from other departments across the organization to guarantee accurate explanations and the integrity of the financial information and disclosures. Semiannually preparation of the Reporting financial information under IFRS, which includes a detail level of explanations over each part of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement of AGR: goodwill, Tangible and Intangible assets, financial investments, stocks, accounts receivable, equity, other deferred income, pensions, provisions, deferred taxes and accounts payable. Build strong relationships with other AGR Control Departments as Accounting and Business Performance. Manages and coordinates regular communications and discussion with Iberdrola SA back office team over segment’s periodic consolidated financial reports, analysis and transactions. Deal with auditors and support their reviewing process. Implement detail accounting policies, complement, and provide evidences for SOX Control.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent discipline

  • Master’s degree and CPA are preferred

  • 7+years of related experience, public accounting firm experience is preferred

  • Accounting of financial experience in management role required

  • Experience in preparation or audit financial statements

  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting and IFRS accounting

  • Experience in SAP / BPC tools and consolidation is preferred

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Well organized person, ability to deliver products on time

  • Able to lead a group of individuals
