Become a Technical Senior Specialist, Compliance & Coordination at Southern California Edison (SCE) and help shape building a reliable and resilient electric system of tomorrow. In this job, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and data collection across teams within TSP&S for the newly formed Compliance & Coordination team to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.   • Coordinate/facilitate the development of controls for TSP&S compliance programs.

  • Lead and oversee the creation of TSP, ATRA, and GIP master calendars to ensure visibility of deadlines and milestones are available and assist with overall prioritization of changing corporate priorities.

  • Analyze new regulatory standards and perform gaps analysis.

  • Help coordinate PLEC, PLSC, ASTRC, POC, and FRM standing internal committee meetings.

  • Coordinate writing, analyzing, and submitting regulatory compliance reports/proceedings, data requests, and industry partner.

  • Lead by example, maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison’s safety protocols and safe work practices in addition to providing support with all other duties assigned

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Five or more years of project management experience addressing and solving business and engineering technical issues.

  • Familiarity with industry committees, subcommittees, working groups, and task forces as it pertains to Transmission and Distributionplanning.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Social Science, Training and Development, Human Resources, Education, Instructional Design, or related discipline

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Has a broad range of knowledge in project management, operational policies, procedures, programs, practices, criteria, and standards.

  • General knowledge of Transmission and Sub transmission compliance requirements that support critical system strategy, analyses, and planning Transmission Substation Plan (TSP), Generation Interconnection Program (GIP > 50 kV) (covering TOT, WDAT, ISP, Fast Track and Rule 21 projects), Substation Equipment Replacement Program (SERP), Annual Transmission Reliability Assessment (ATRA), Western Electricity Coordination Council (WECC) path ratings, North American Electricity Reliability Corporation (NERC) , Stakeholder Review Process (SRP) and other related programs.

  • General knowledge of TOT, WDAT, and Rule 21 tariffs and know how to perform and administer the various SCE Planning programs.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and deliver technical presentations to both a technical and non-technical audience, including external settings

  • Experience in developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Consult with key stakeholders and maintain relationships with clients provide direction and make strategic decisions regarding changing project/product scope, policy development, implementation, and quality control.

  • Understanding of applicable industry and regulatory standards, safety codes, design standards and regulations pertinent to the electrical engineering discipline including those contained in the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers’ (IEEE) National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), CPUC requirements, and other appropriate local, state, and national standards.

  • Interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of employees including Senior Management and Executives within SCE and/or across company boundaries

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to independently make sound judgments and develop imaginative solutions to extremely complex problems.

  • Detail oriented and competent in time management, organization, planning and record-keeping skills.

  • This position’s work mode is *hybrid. * The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.
