Become a Senior Purchasing Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be supporting and developing sourcing strategies for the energy infrastructure of tomorrow in areas such as transportation electrification, energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage, customer experience, and professional and consulting services within the Customer and Consulting/Professional Services Procurement team. The Customer and Consulting/Professional Services Procurement group manages over $1.0 billion in annual spend for Customer Service, Professional Services, and Consulting Services. You’re interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills will be fully exercised as you manage a variety of strategies that focus on value creation, cost savings, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation. You will be responsible for supporting the development and optimization of sourcing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead/participate in competitive solicitations, supplier selection, achievement of applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), contract negotiations and development . . Responsibilities
Ensures key aspects relating to risk management, quality, ethical sourcing, sustainability and legal compliance are in line with the company's policies
Updates supplier-provided agreements as well as contracting policies and procedures for negotiations and governing use by internal stakeholders
Supports the development and delivery of category or sourcing strategies and management of tendering events
Aids in developing and implementing innovative solutions to resolve complex issues, utilizing organizational readiness change management strategies
Conducts contract reviews for audit compliance and spend analysis to assess long-term agreement requirements for operations to ensure supply of materials through a proactive supply chain model
Manages day-to-day Energy contracts across various regulated and de-regulated markets
Supports the development of category strategies representing requirements of our business plans and commitments made to regulators and customers
Utilizes complex data sets to aid in identifying new opportunities to drive benefits through contracts lifecycle and performs analysis in order to identify risk issues and gap identification
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience sourcing professional services.
Experience using SAP software in a purchasing environment, and utilizing Ariba Sourcing, Contracting, and P2P modules.
Knowledge and decision making experience of purchasing practices and policies, and knowledge of procurement contracts and standard terms and conditions.
Experience with industry best practices, standards, utility regulations, procedures and compliance as they relate to purchasing.
Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, and analyzing information and making strategic decisions regarding scope, impact, policy, development, and implementation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, formal correspondence, contractual documentation, and negotiations.
Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
CPM, CPSM, CPCM, CCCM, and/or PMP certification(s).
Additional Information
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
