About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position overview

Pole Program Management is responsible for managing a budget of $450 million for its pole inspection and replacement programs throughout SCE’s service territory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the budget and regulatory activities for Pole Program Management. Supporting the budget activities includes developing operational forecasts, performing variance analysis, evaluating cost reduction scenarios, ensuring correct charging practices, and producing reports for management. Supporting regulatory activities includes working on SCE’s general rate case and other regulatory filings by drafting testimony, responding to data requests and conducting research and analysis; producing regulatory compliance reports; maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and performing other responsibilities and duties as issues emerge.


Minimum qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in an analytical position

Desired qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field or 5 years related experience.

  • Experience supporting the development of operational forecasts to support the annual budgeting process, including documenting assumptions and methodology based on key variables, performing variance analysis, developing and implementing recommendations to reduce expenditures, performing ‘what if’ scenarios, performing cost benefit analyses, developing and interpreting managerial accounting reports.

  • Experience providing research and analysis to support regulatory filings such as the General Rate Case, responding to data requests, and drafting testimony.

  • Knowledge of T&D operations, systems, policies, procedures and practices.

  • Experience directing work on the overall implementation and compliance with regulatory settlements. Developing procedures and validations to ensure regulatory requirements are met, producing regulatory reports, analyzing data and resolving any data discrepancies.

  • Experience developing impactful presentations and communicating information to executive management and employees at all levels.

  • Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAS, SAP, SPIDA and geospatial systems.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement, providing exceptional service to internal and external customers, and staying current with the latest technology.

  • Strong skills in the areas of team building, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, decision making, results delivery, ethics and working safely.
