The Senior Manager, Design Resource Planning & Performance Management will be responsible for overseeing the resource forecasting and performance management of the Planning organization. The Design RPPM group plays an integral part in supporting Planning by ensuring that the group has enough resources, proper training, and follows the established policies and procedures to complete design work in a safe and efficient manner. You will be responsible for coordinating meetings between internal stakeholders within the Planning organization to review performance metrics and take corrective action as needed. You will lead a team of managers that oversee four areas: Planning Performance and Resource Management, Talent Pipeline and Development, Design Data Analytics, and Planning Contract Management including:

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders within Planning to improve Planning performance and address performance issues.

  • Work with Chino Training and Enterprise Learning & Development teams to develop new and improved training for the Planning organization.

  • Analyze data from the design team to identify areas of focus or opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure design contractor invoices are paid on time and without any issues.

  • Manage team performance, provide coaching and feedback on ways to become more effective and efficient managing teams.

  • Develop resource strategy for Planning organization

  • Partner with cross functional organizations to implement performance management corrective actions

  • Develop & present performance & resource strategy to Senior Leadership teams

  • Partner with Resource Planning & Performance Managers of Construction to ensure there are appropriate resources allocated across the planning organization


The essentials

  • Five or more years managing/supervising an organization/unit

  • Experience forecasting resources needs based on capital budgets

  • Experience managing performance of an organization using metrics, dashboards and data

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable profession, business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Experience working in Distribution Planning, Construction or similar field

  • Knowledge of Distribution policies, practices, procedures, objectives, and strategies

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills

  • Experience using Power BI and SAS Viya to create reporting dashboards

  • The position’s work mode is remote.  Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion.
