About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.
The Senior Manager of Business Operations will manage a team comprised of project managers, advisors, and support analysts. The Senior Manager will have oversight and responsibility for common functions within the Resource Planning and Performance Management groups, providing economies scale to improve efficiencies. Successful execution of these activities by a centralized organization has a major impact on TS&O and T&D by increasing the efficiency of resource utilization and the ability of the organization to manage its increasing critical work activities to meet its goals and objectives.
Resource strategy and staffing cap management
Develop and manage a centralized resource strategy model.
Provide recommendations to improve resource strategy and operational performance.
Manage all TS&O staffing caps.
SPOC for TS&O on-boarding process.
Business resiliency planning and documentation
Develop and maintain with business line support, appropriate TS&O/T&D business resiliency plans.
Strategic planning, business planning, business support, business process improvement
Provide governance and oversight for TS&O business plans, resource plans TS&O performance measures, business initiatives, goals and metrics in order to ensure alignment with OU and corporate goals.
Serve as SMEs and strategic/business planning analysts for TS&O and business lines.
Works with other business lines (e.g., IT, AM&OS) to support process improvement needs for TS&O and other T&D business lines. (e.g., process efficiencies, technology, etc)
Improve coordination between TS&O RPPM groups to adopt common best practices in processes and business tools.
Consolidated reporting of high-value and complex work.
Provide reports for decision making, which are common across business lines and provide meaningful operational value.
Leverage PM&A to take over low-value and simple reporting tasks to increase efficiencies.
PDP development, performance tracking and reporting.
Provide source of skills required for operational analytics (modeling, statistical analysis, data mining, etc.).
Provide advanced analytical support to business lines to improve operational performance.
Five or more years managing/supervising an organization/unit or project management experience.
Must have lead a diverse team focused on innovation, change management and employee development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related technical discipline
Experience in resource planning, cost control and accounting, in addition to knowledge of their impact to the regional budgeting process.
Experience developing and implementing strategic plans, and facilitating forums to capture the requirements of business strategy.
Experience interfacing and/or collaborating with internal/external clients, governmental agencies, all levels of employees, managers within and across business units, and corporate officers to develop solutions and facilitate cooperation between departments.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Position will require 30% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
