Become a Senior Advisor, Work Management at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will support the T&D Work Management (WM) team within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) organizational Unit. The WM team partners with execution organizations to develop work management processes, manage related enterprise Systems of Record (SoR), develop tools to integrate various data sources, design and create reports, and establish business requirements to manage work throughout the IPSEC life cycle. The Work Management group is in the process of implementing integrated scheduling and work management platforms across all T&D.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Manage multiple projects associated with the implementation of the Work Management Roadmap that have a major financial or operational impact to T&D by developing and implementing project plans and change management plans. This position will lead the implementation of work management processes, systems and technologies.

  • Be the Business Product Owner (BPO) and/or the Process Owner of certain Work Management Business Suite products, which includes tools/reports, platforms and enterprise SoRs.

  • Identify, address, and communicate performance gaps to process owners and partner with process owners to develop, recommend, and implement both short-term and long-term solutions as the projects/initiatives require.

  • Develop and implement work management process improvements to build better work visibility, enable improved decision-making capabilities, and monitor and analyze project/process metrics, reporting, and tools.

  • Act as a key consultant to senior management and change agent to influence internal and external partners to implement new work management processes.

  • Develop and deliver presentations to senior leadership.

  • Responsible for stabilization of implemented solutions, participate with IT and ASP Technology Integration on system enhancements and transition to steady-state, repeatable operations.

  • Engage with key partners to evaluate current work planning, schedule adherence and execution processes, and determine modifications needed to effectively implement approved operating plans and ensure alignment with the work management vision.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Ten or more years of experience leading/managing projects and/or initiatives

  • Scheduling experience with Primavera P6 platform, MS Project or similar scheduling programs

  • Experience in process development and/or process improvement

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher level of education in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Construction Management or other technical field.

  • Electric utility operations experience.

  • Seven or more years of scheduling experience with Primavera P6 platform, MS Project or similar scheduling programs.

  • Seven or more years of experience with process development and/or improvements

  • Seven or more years of experience with construction projects.

  • Project Management (PMP) Certification, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.

  • Intermediate/advanced experience with using Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Access, and/or Microsoft Visio.

  • Ability to influence, collaborate and demonstrate strong facilitative leadership skills.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
