Job Description

In this job, you’ll be responsible for helping to develop and integrate strategy across the Grid Modernization portfolio which represents approximately $200 million in annual capital investment across several Grid Modernization (Grid Mod) capability towers. Through collaboration with business partners across Asset Strategy & Planning (ASP), Information Technology (IT), and Transmission & Distribution (T&D), you will translate high-level Grid Mod strategy into executable plans, integrate with key stakeholders, make a difference in closing gaps in our execution strategy and ensure the effective implementation of these plans.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Lead and guide Grid Modernization’s Engineering and Planning (E&P) software tools strategy and annual release planning process across the five (5) workstreams, including capability prioritization, conducting capability workshops with all applicable Business Product Owners/Leads, and project managing the Business Requirement Documentation development process

  • Lead the development and refresh of the medium-to-short-term (i.e. 5-year) capability roadmap for E&P, creating 3-year execution plans, and 1-year scope/schedule/cost baselines and milestones for each E&P workstream (Long Term Planning Tool, Grid Connectivity Model, DER External Portal, Grid Interconnection Processing Tool, and the Grid Analytics Application)

  • Lead and integrate across various ASP, IT, and T&D groups to ensure the Grid Mod program is effectively executed and implemented

  • Synthesize company strategic goals, E&P software tool maturity, and new/future grid technology capabilities to make informed Grid Mod program decisions, support Grid Mod regulatory activities/data requests, and update capability roadmaps

  • Maintain Grid Mod’s E&P tower deployment performance

  • Understand, document, mitigate and/or appropriately assign ownership of risks and dependencies within the Grid Mod program

  • Host, facilitate, and present to Grid Mod governance forums (both executive and non-executive level) to drive timely decisions supporting effective planning and execution

Qualifications

Essentials

  • Ten or more years of experience leading/developing strategic roadmaps, initiatives and/or investments from initiation through completion

  • Experience leading technology related projects/portfolios

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, or other business-related discipline

  • Experience with Grid Modernization development, including strategic objectives and areas of investment focus

  • Experience developing testimony, strategy, and data requests for regulatory activities

  • Experience delivering/developing technical information to a non-technical audience as well as to senior leadership

  • Experience using Microsoft suite

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong problem solver

  • Strong program/project delivery skills

  • Hybrid: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid .The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
