Become a Project Controls Sr. Specialist and work in the Major Projects Organization (MPO) within the Project Controls Department of the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Organization unit at Southern California Edison (SCE). This position will be responsible for generating the cost estimates for capital substation and bulk transmission line projects.

The Project Controls Sr. Specialist must interface with various SCE inter-departments to develop and maintain detailed cost estimates and unit estimates for assigned major and/or multi-year project(s) and/or program(s) throughout their lifecycles. This role will be responsible for following SCE’s cost estimating methodologies by leveraging various features and function of the cost estimating tool.

  • Establish company/department’s policies, guidelines, and work instructions

  • Demonstrate knowledge of project controls and/or project management body of knowledge

  • Perform cost estimation of capital projects

  • Learn, develop and improve current best practices for gathering, organizing and reporting project scope and cost data

  • Facilitate the generation of innovative ideas for process improvements and then turning the best of these ideas into reality

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Five (5) years of work experience in project controls, cost estimating or cost controls

The Preferred

  • Certifications in engineering, project management, project controls, construction management

You Should Know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
