As an Information Management Sr Advisor , your work will add organizational unit level centralized comprehensive governance over Transmission and Distribution’s (T&D) data and records management. Meeting the goals of better records and information quality and access improves decision making, reduces errors, and can prevent significant reputational damage. The Information Governance (IG) Program in (T&D) is being newly established. Aligning with and supporting the Enterprise Information Governance Program, this position will;

  • Add organizational unit level centralized comprehensive governance over T&D’s data and records management.

  • Reduce the risk of significant fines and penalties linked to poor records management and data quality controls.

  • Develop and/or improve the data governance framework and implement it throughout T&D by integrating data governance principles, tasks and activities with assigned projects, programs and initiatives.

  • Train, educate and support assigned data stewards, data SME’s, process leads and other named data governance resources to apply data governance principles and activities to programs, projects and initiatives on an ongoing and consistent basis.

  • Develop and execute programs to address information governance objectives including reviews related to records of critical company operations and others that affect safety, reliability of critical operations, regulatory compliance, finances, and company reputation.Examples include – CA Consumer Privacy Act and Critical Business Records.

  • Collaborate with project and program teams, as well as data stewards and data SME’s and process SME’s on an ongoing basis to ensure the continued and consistent practice of data governance, data quality and other data management practices. This includes organizational change management (OCM) activities such as change impact assessments, stakeholder assessments and other OCM techniques.

  • Provide data governance guidance and subject matter expertise to project and program teams to ensure that appropriate data are identified and defined for appropriate use to support business processes and functional requirements.

  • Consult on business issues, including gathering and analyzing information, independently identifying client needs, developing action plans and providing recommendations to stakeholders.


The essentials

  • 10 or more years of experience program management or record management.

  • Managing comprehensive records retention and disposition schedules based on legal requirements and records management industry standards

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering

  • Experience within information technology and information management including information protection, records management, records and information quality, risk management and project management.

  • Experience with the public utility industry operations according to federal and state laws and regulations related to records management
