Become a Data Program, Senior Specialist in Substation Construction & Maintenance (SC&M) Substation Maintenance Program group within Southern California Edison (SCE)’s Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T&D). In this job you’ll play a key role supporting SC&M’s Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programs that consist of Predictive Maintenance Assessment (PMA), Circuit Breaker Analysis (CBA), Transformer Oil Analysis (TOA), Oil Circuit Breaker Analysis (OCBA), Oil Tap Changer Analysis (OTA) and as well as the Emergency Equipment Program (EEP). This position will focus on supporting the data flow, quality, integrity, and report automation which in turn will help with equipment performance, assessment of risk and determine repair versus replacement.

  • Support the evolution and streamlining of SC&M’s Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programs and Emergency Equipment Program (EEP).

  • Performs in-depth analyses, develops recommendations to address complex problems/issues which cross organizational boundaries that requires thorough technical knowledge to resolve.

  • Support the maintenance of databases, dashboards, analytical tools (such as SC&M’s Maintenance Decision Tool), and process documentation for data alignment of SC&M’s main source systems as well as working alongside both SC&M Master Data and Apparatus & Maintenance group.

  • Create self-service and automation tools to improve efficiency and increase quality of recurring requests.

  • Provide, analyze and interpret data in support of asset and operational strategy development.

  • Provide data and analytical support for regulatory and legal filings, including General Rate Cases, Wildfire Mitigation Plans, and compliance reporting.

  • Lead the development of dashboards for management reporting and trend analysis.

  • Participate as a team member on Departmental/Business Unit data resolution initiatives, and special projects.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

The essentials

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in the field of data analysis creating, querying, maintaining databases and analyzing large data sets.

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience and proficiency in PowerBi, SQL, SAP, SAS, and/or SAS Visual Analytics.

  • Experience tracking/analyzing data and providing feedback on business issues of moderate complexity to ensure alignment with department goals and strategies.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a Statistics, Data Analytics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Business, Economics, or related technical field

  • Experience working with SAP, Oracle, Electric Utility Operations data

  • Demonstrate experience developing and maintaining dashboards and prototypes.

  • Demonstrate experience with Substation/Transmission/and or Distribution business units.

  • Demonstrate experience presenting and providing recommendations to management on business direction and impacts.

  • Demonstrate experience developing and communicating on project status reports, including variance tracking and analysis.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrate ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode ishybrid.  The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
