In this job, you’ll acts as a liaison for integrated strategy between T&D and corporate strategy, Regulatory Affairs, and Operational Finance. We are responsible for T&D business planning, financial planning, regulatory planning, and performance management as well as the T&D Transformation Office. This includes responsibility for developing the T&D portion of SCE’s operating plans, annual goals, strategic roadmap to deliver on key company objectives and the General Rate Case, as well as serving in a performance management role designed to drive accountability for T&D’s specific metrics and goals that span financial, regulatory, strategic, and operational dimensions.
The Business Strategy, Advisor in T&D Business Strategy will be critical in ensuring T&D does the right work at the right time. The successful candidate is primarily responsible for developing and managing business line strategic , operating, and resource plans while also supporting the financial aspects of SCE’s key regulatory filings (e.g. General Rate Case, Distribution Resources Plan, Transmission Maintenance and Compliance Review, FERC filings, Climate Change, etc.). This position will develop a deep subject matter expertise on one of the line organizations and connect that knowledge with T&D’s overall financial portfolio and strategy to lead the business-line financial, resource, and strategic plans As a Business Strategy, Advisor , your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Provides leadership, oversight, facilitation, subject matter expertise and coordination of Operational & Financial Performance for business line work completed
Connects work completes to costs or commitments incurred
Provides key input and coordination for the T&D strategic plan
Coordinates with the individual business lines on behalf of T&D Business Strategy
Provides subject matter expertise during regulatory cycles in partnership with the business lines
Consults on FRM requests and ensures forecasts and operating plans are updated as necessary
Channels topics to T&D or SCE governing bodies, as appropriate
Develops strong relationships with critical stakeholders in the business lines
Develops and presents materials to senior and executive leadership in behalf of Business Strategy
Influences senior management decision making
Performs scenario analysis on operational and financial issues
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
The essentials
Seven years of experience in any of the following: project management with responsibilities for results in terms of costs, methods, and outcomes, asset management, business planning or strategic planning
Advanced experience independently analyzing work performed and extrapolating forecast insights for Transmission & Distribution business lines, Generation, or Business Resiliency
Advanced experience creating operating plans for Transmission & Distribution business lines, Generation, or Business Resiliency
Experience with working tracking systems
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Computer science, Mathematics or related analytical degrees
Must have advanced Word, Excel, and Power Point skills
The preferred
Master’s in Business Administration or Master of Science in Engineering or Economics preferred
Operational experience (e.g., in District Operations) or equivalent experience in one of T&D’s business lines
Training and experience in continuous improvement techniques
Presenting to and influencing management
Providing exceptional service to internal and external customers and stakeholders
Experience with resource and project planning
Experience with integrating work across the organization
Experience with delegation and providing direction to junior/new team members
Experience with PowerBI, PowerBI Pro, Alteryx software, or similar tools
