Become a Business Operations Analysis, Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will help complete the large volume of day-to-day workload experienced in the Resource and Performance Management (RPM) team, which provides a valuable service to both Distribution System Planning & Strategy (DSP&S) and Transmission System Planning & Strategy (TSP&S) organizations. This position requires strong technical skills and expertise of a Sr Specialist to support the major functions of RPM team, including resource analysis and tracking, talent and intern planning, purchase orders & contract management related to hiring of consultants, O&M budget tracking and Op Plan/GRC support, Centralized Training Program logistics, and program management. This position will also provide a technical leadership role in developing tools for resource and talent planning, documentation, and tracking, managing purchase orders, contracts, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and contribute to refining the RPM SharePoint site and critical document repositories. Also, the RPM group is expected to stand up and manage an emerging work intake process among other emergent tasks in which this position would be expected to assist on a going forward basis.

  • Conduct work through the application of technical skills and expertise in the analysis of business issues, operations, resource requirements, cost control efforts, quality assurance, business processes, and data and the development and implementation of short and long-term initiatives, plans, and strategies to optimize results.

  • Advise, guide and work with other employees and leaders, however, work is accomplished primarily through the employee’s own work activities, as an example purchase orders with outside vendors, annual Op Plans and GRC cycles, resource planning and training.

  • Analyze and interpret data and provide technical advice, decision tools, research, benchmarking, capacity models, utilization forecasts, simulations, and statistical analysis to achieve financial, operational, and people benchmarks.

  • Develop alternatives, present findings, and recommendations, and consult with key stakeholders.

  • Oversee staffing and work management processes, and related tool development for DSP&S and TSP&S organizations, and track and monitor the operation’s business budgets and annual strategic plans.

  • Experience working well under time constraints with ability to self-manage priorities and multiple demands while maintaining attention to detail and producing high-quality work with minimal direction.


The essentials

  • Five years of experience inbusinessoperations analysis and/or purchase order & contract management.

  • Five years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, macros, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, project management, Organization Change Management (OCM), or other related fields.

  • Experience with tracking projects, using dashboards, and preparing presentations

  • Possess strong analytical and communication skills

  • Ability to gather vital and relevant information through consultations with subject matter experts.

  • Experience identifying resource planning and work management problems and areas of improvement and support the creation of program/process requirements and plans to pursue opportunities to address identified problems.

  • Purchase orders and contracts for hiring contractors and consultants, and associated tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba) experience.

  • Experience supporting O&M Op Plans and GRC cycles.

  • Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong logical thinking and quick learning abilities.

  • Advanced skills and experience using SharePoint, OneNote, PowerBI and Visio.

  • Experience working well under time constraints with ability to self-manage priorities and multiple demands while maintaining attention to detail and producing high-quality work with minimal direction.

  • Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
