Under semi-direct supervision, to operate various types of automotive and material handling equipment and handle material transactions physically and via electronic means. To operate efficient, effective and secure warehouses and provide accurate, timely and quality services to all customers. May require work to be performed on a continual and recurring nature at varying degrees of time.
Responsible and accountable to receive, reclaim, issue, record, store, stage and control all stock and non-stock materials, supplies and equipment.
Responsible and accountable for inventory accuracy of the physical inventory to the computerized material management system.
Responsible and accountable for receipt, loading, processing, documentation and disposal of PCB and Hazardous Waste Material according to regulatory agencies and Duquesne Light Company procedures.
Responsible and accountable for the receipt, recording material and equipment returned from the system and segregating of the items into salvage, repairable, or scrap categories.
Responsible and accountable for the safe, secure and proper storage, handling and labeling of all materials, supplies and equipment.
Responsible and accountable for the accurate and efficient preparation, loading, distribution and unloading of materials, supplies and equipment to and from various destinations.
Responsible and accountable for all administrative documentation and physical operation related to vehicle operation and material distribution.
Performs all work in accordance with DOT and Duquesne Light Company rules, regulations and procedures.
Responsible and accountable for the safe operation and inspection of all company equipment used in the material handling and distribution processes.
Occasionally instructs or trains personnel
Responsible and accountable for all safety and good housekeeping.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Education / Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to pass the company administered standardized test. (SASS)
Must possess a CDL Class "A" License with endorsements required by the DOT including; Combination, Air Brake, Hazardous Material, 5th Wheel Connection, and any future endorsements required by law.
Must have the ability to operate a Fork truck and pass the written and demonstration examinations.
Ability to perform lifting, carrying and lowering of various sizes, shapes and weight of materials.
