Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the Asset Management department including Substation Maintenance Planning, Distribution Maintenance Planning, Civil Asset Management, and Ops Technical Services groups.

  • Responsible for developing projects and programs to achieve safe , reliable, resilient service and aligns with system reliability goals designate accountability for the implementation of programs and projects

  • Ensures safety is top of mind when making scope recommendations and performing work (poles inspections, line inspections, driving, etc)

  • Develops and updates long-term distribution system improvement plans (LTIIP) plans

  • Creates and maintains processes and tools to assess and monitor the condition of transmission and distribution assets and maintain databases on component performance

  • Analyzing trends of system and asset performance and developing plans and programs to optimize performance and asset life

  • Developing, monitoring, and updating maintenance plans and programs to support safe, reliable, resilient grid operations and comply with regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrating effective leadership through staff development, budget management, and communication and collaboration with other departments.

  • Ensures DLC is compliant with required PUC, NERC, and FERC regulations including Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) plans.

  • Participates in industry benchmarking and engagement events (EEI, EAPA, NEUC, etc)

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering field

  • 10+ years of industry experience

  • 5+ years of prior management experience

  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope

Required Skills:

  • Excellent decision making skills required to assess information and make timely decisions. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, to accurately and effectively communicate information to both team members and executive leadership. Extensive knowledge in Asset Management is preferred.

  • Focus on developing and exercising business plans, policies and procedures that are directly aligned to the organizations strategy for given area.

  • Key member of the management team representing the organization in dealings with clients and external bodies.

  • Actively participates in proactive planning.

  • Seasoned leader with extensive business experience. Deep functional expertise and significant product knowledge.

  • Will assist with day to day management of operational execution as warranted when issues arise.

Decision making Impact:

  • Identifies emerging practices from best practices, and proactively seeks opportunities to implement improvements.

  • Improves on entire exiting processes and systems using high-level of interpretive skills and analysis.

  • Defines broad-based solutions that may require consideration of multiple work dimensions (e.g. human, financial, and technical).

  • Considers implications of solutions on other areas within organization and to the business of the organization.
