Job Responsibilities:

Environmental Permitting/GIS Analyst

The Environmental Permitting/GIS Analyst is responsible for supporting our Engineering and Survey Team on land development, natural gas and survey related projects. This position requires detailed knowledge of permit requirements for local, state, and federal permitting agencies related to these types of projects. Alternatively, a background in environmental science or engineering and a willingness to learn the permitting process. Additionally, this position will also include the heavy use of AutoCAD and ArcGIS to analyze data sets, prepare sketches, figures, and detailed construction documents. We are willing to train if the applicant has foundational skills.

This position is required to perform the following functions:

  • Process and track a variety of permitting efforts on multiple projects.

  • Prepare and submit wetland, stream, highway, railroad permit applications and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans.

  • Perform field inspections of Erosion and Sediment Control Plan implementation

  • Coordinate with engineers on plan and report requirements.

  • Coordinate and communicate directly with permitting agencies.

  • Will be required to collect detailed data, gather information and provide analysis for multiple projects.

  • Works on smaller projects independently and on larger projects as part of a team.

  • Performs project production and delivery tasks.

Job Qualifications:

Skills and Experience


  • Possess basic Environmental and/or Civil Engineering knowledge and skills

  • Ability to perform advanced AutoCAD Tasks

  • Ability to perform advanced tasks in ArcGIS

  • 2-4 years of related work experience

  • Must possess strong organizational, oral and written communication skills


  • Environmental/Civil Engineering degree and/or background

  • Permitting knowledge and experience in NY, PA, RI, & MA
