Provide technical and administrative support to the Operations Center to ensure the reliability and integrity of the distribution system. Prepares and provides technical reports as needed to support the Operations Center in the areas of distribution operations and assists with other duties as assigned.
Support activities of the Operations Center related to the daily operations of the Distribution system and associated equipment.
Create and/or maintain databases for daily work within the Operations Center
Perform as necessary, studies of frequent Distribution Circuit outages including device operations for root cause analysis and formulate mitigation strategies based on those findings.
Work closely with Operations Center Reliability Engineers (OCRE) and Distribution Planning as needed.
Support OCRE and the Operations Center by updating and maintaining accurate circuit connected kVA statistics.
Develop temporary and permanent operating guides and procedures as needed to ensure continued reliability of the Distribution system as needed.
Assist in the development of, and participate in, emergency preparedness drills (GridEx, EarthEx, PJM Grid Security Drill, Storm Drill, etc.)
Provide information and perform studies at the request of the Litigation department in the investigation of insurance claims.
Provide technical support for the Storm Plan and other Emergency Plans for the Operations Center.
Works closely with the IT SCADA Operations team for the DLC Distribution system as needed.
Gathers evidence, and provides information related to the investigation of Electrical Contact Incidents or Unusual Media Events to internal stakeholders.
Support the OCRE in meeting regulatory performance metrics and service restoration goals by assisting with producing reports and analyses to be used for service restoration improvement initiatives.
Works with Outage Coordination to proactively prepare updates for the Operations Center circuit maps
Maintains the OMS Lite Street and Circuit files along with ensuring mapping updates are complete.
Participates in various internal and external committees as needed.
Pro-Actively monitor the daily weather for operational awareness
Participate in storms in a pre-determined storm role
Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or college.
Must possess strong organizational, computer, and problem solving skills.
Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to drive to various company locations. May be required to drive in inclement weather to support emergency service restoration obligations.
Experience in SCADA systems, OMS systems, and State Estimator Modeling.
Experience with AutoCAD
Work location is a combination of office environment and occasional field work. Desk and computer work is required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to various internal and external locations. Participation on the DLC Storm Team is required. Must be able to work up to 16 hours during emergent situations including nights and weekends.
