Working with the enterprise GIS system and processes associated with that system. Understands and interprets electric utility needs as it relates to the GIS and assists in developing applications and solutions to address those needs. Supports quality management of database structure and associated data dictionaries to ensure business & regulatory needs are captured in a complete and accurate manner.
Utilizes Geographic Information System techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location.
Assists with performing GIS Analysis to aid with resolution of business issues.
Assist with developing requirements for business facing web and mobile GIS applications
Supports communication of issues and resolutions encountered with GIS applications and data collection activities.
Supports development of business solutions by performing detailed analysis of business issues utilizing the GIS.
Supports detailed QA/QC of GIS datasets ensuring data model integrity and that production data is representative of production environment.
Provide support and documentation as required to GIS Technicians. Develops GIS models & python scripts to streamline business processes.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in GIS. Candidates must have completed their sophomore year of studies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products & ESRI ArcGIS Software Suite. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
Work will be conducted in a hybrid environment with some time working remotely, and some time required to be in-office/on-site. Candidates must be within close proximity to Pittsburgh.
