Role Purpose:

The Manager – Generation Construction Management is a professional with extensive knowledge and vast experience related to Construction Management. Ensure that the construction management team follows the Project Delivery System as the construction managers work to construct and execute large capital projects totaling approximately $50 to $150 million per year. Acts as the safety champion for the ECPM organization. Assists in the development of strategic and operational plans with a focus on construction management within a power plant. Responsible for establishing and meeting department metrics and results. Achieves results by directing, overseeing, coordinating construction management resources while ensuring compliance with Cleco’s standard project management practices. Responsible for the performance and development of high-level technical employees with their Engineering responsibilities.

  • Provides team members with individual and group development opportunities including training, performance planning, feedback and appraisals and general performance management.

  • Manages staff of technical professionals to provide construction management on large capital generation projects. This includes managing day to day activities of direct reports to ensure their performance is effective in meeting construction standards, remaining within budget, remaining on schedule, and assessing risk to minimize adverse conditions affecting projects.

  • Monitor direct reports' project safety, construction safety audits, and verification of contractor job safety briefings. Review contractor safety and quality assurance and verify compliance through audits, inspections, or surveillances. Assist in root cause investigations and incident reviews as requested.

  • Ensure that the Playbook process is followed correctly for the large capital projects to ensure consistent project execution, correct reporting, and that the customer (Plant Manager) gets a superior product.

  • Manage their team’s project work progress, so that other Managers and Directors are able to track progress towards overall goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from ABET approved curriculum or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with certification by the NCEES to sit for the FE exam

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • 2-5 years’ people management experience, preferred

  • Ability to report to the Pineville General Office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

  • Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism

  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees to address difficult issues

  • Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities

  • Ability to operate effectively and proactively with an employee centric mindset

  • Detailed-oriented and high work standards in support of seamless execution

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret KPIs/metrics and derive insights into actionable opportunities

  • Drive issues to resolution while maintaining an atmosphere of collaboration

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of industry and technology trends, particularly within generation utilitiesSalary dependent on experience, skills, education, and training.
