The Enterprise Risk Analyst will help maintain rigorous risk identification, assessment and management of risks facing Cleco’s operations and strategic directives through the implementation of Cleco’s ERM framework. The incumbent will assess identified risks, work with risk owners to analyze risk exposure, develop risk metrics and supporting analysis, and contribute to the development and oversight of risk mitigation plans within respective business functions. The incumbent will help develop the quantification and aggregation of enterprise risk at the top level, and support executive and board of managers reporting.


  • Help develop and integrate an enterprise risk management framework that is capable of adequately and transparently addressing strategic and operational risks

  • Ensure enterprise risk processes across the organization are consistently applied and aligned to achieve desired business outcomes

  • Facilitate business function risk deep dives and support the business functions to embed risk process, measurement, monitoring and response plans into day-to-day decision making

  • Provide support for quantification of inherent and residual risk

  • Set standards and facilitate risk issue remediation

  • Support communication to the Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC), business function stakeholders and internal audit

  • Develop and maintain enterprise risk registry for a holistic view of existing/ potential risks

  • Lead implementation and integration of ERM software and Business Intelligence tools

  • Aggregate and analyze data to identify and communicate risk insights using business intelligence software and latest tools for ERM communications

  • Monitor and evaluate key risk indicators, risk mitigation plans and risk issue remediation

  • Develops data analytics and risk measurement using the latest data analytics tools such as R, Python and Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Microsoft BI

  • Develop and maintain enterprise risk dashboards and visualizations, including heat maps, tornado diagrams, bow-tie diagrams and Monte Carlo histograms

  • Prepare executive and stakeholder presentations that communicate risk management in actionable and insightful business language supported with analytics

  • Communicate with business functions to manage risk response plans

  • Develop solid business relationships, become a trusted advisor with key functional leaders and stakeholders to manage ERM program

  • Support business functions in ensuring appropriate and necessary resources are available for risk mitigation and monitoring

  • Develop relationships with Executive Stakeholders to communicate key risks, analysis and risk response plans

  • Be accountable for risk assessment and risk aggregation

  • Research leading practices and assist Risk Analytics Manager and VP Risk Management enhance the enterprise risk program

Education / Experience:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in an enterprise risk management role

  • 3+ years’ experience and/or significant familiarity with utility industry

  • Experience in Resolver or similar ERM software and tools

  • Depth in data analytics and business intelligence tools

  • Depth in risk analytics methodologies

  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to determine risks across business functions and assets

  • Strong understanding of risk, controls and assurance activities

  • Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
