Job Brief

Participate in a team of engineering and paraprofessional staff in developing Policy, Procedures and Standards as well as performing engineering activities for existing Generation facilities. Ensures effective interaction between operational groups and system improvements and other support departments.

Job Responsibilities

• Document the development of Policies, Procedures and Standards based on best known industry standards

• Support the Power Generation departments in developing training materials, and policies, procedures, and standards in an effort to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Power Generation departments, as well as establishing and maintaining effective relationships with other departments, external customers, agencies, and other utilities

• Identify opportunities to continuously improve the standards to meet the needs of our stakeholders and SRP

• Assess whether the standards are being consistently followed and applied by performing internal compliance audits

• Develop, monitor, and report on metrics; use metrics to drive process improvement

• Collaborate with SMEs and other groups to improve effectiveness of processes

• Ability to write technical procedures and standards which clearly define specific functions or tasks for all levels of operation


Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution, ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) or any state or internationally recognized PE registration.


This is a multi-level position. When determining level, candidates will be evaluated based on experience applicable to this position.

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three years of experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Five (5) years full time experience actively engaged in engineering practice. Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for the job of Senior Engineer.

  • Efficiently utilize all applicable computer systems and software, including spreadsheet and word processing software

  • 5 years full time experience actively engaged in the engineering practice

Certifications or Testing Required

Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.
